Juice TSD to GameStop to buy it and get used, at least those that work yet.

"This guarantee applies to the original purchaser and can not be assigned or transferred. However, some countries extend the protection of implied warranties to other consumers, so this limitation does not apply to you."
If you are not one of these "court", I would not. You are better off in (a new, more stable Xbox 360 model is much better than most), and encourage your friends to a free repair again (if it falls within 3 years of hardware failure warrently Microsoft offers exactly) this situation .
